Research Topics

All the research topics for EPEM students are coordinated by our Master program teachers together with colleagues researchers from partner institutions.

Research topics provided by our Master program professors, which can be done using our infrastructure from University of Bucharest:

Lect. dr. Gabriela Iorga

  1. Air pollution characterization studies – average state and pollution episodes
  2. Stationary measurements (at a fixed point) of pollutants (gases and aerosols)
  3. Measurements of pollutants with standardized technique and equivalent methods
  4. Physical and optical properties of the aerosol in the troposphere by ground investigation methods
  5. Temporal analysis of meteorological parameters of the atmosphere in areas of interest
  6. Temporal analysis of time series associated with atmospheric pollutant emissions
  7. The influence of meteorological conditions on air pollution

Conf. dr. Cristian Necula

  1. Concentration and median grain size for magnetic minerals less than 20 nm diameter contained in various materials (Quaternary terrestrial sediments, cave sediments, lavas, bronze age artifacts, atmospheric PM10 pollutant,  etc.) using frequency dependence of magnetic susceptibility.
  2. Concentration and unmixing of magnetic minerals from various samples (Quaternary terrestrial sediments, cave sediments, lavas, bronze age artifacts, atmospheric PM10 pollutant,  etc.) using Isothermal Remanent Magnetization measurements.

Conf. dr. Catalin Berlic

  1. Using Lebwohl-Lasher model for liquid crystals Monte Carlo simulation
  2. Using reptation method for linear polymers Monte Carlo simulation
